Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. From the age of 10, she took part and performed the main role in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was found by agents via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records in its first day revenue as well as its opening weekend earnings. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma was later awarded five prizes for her performance in the film.
